And the great thing is, that once you learn, it is an affordable medium that doesn't require much space or expense.

These are some beads that "happened" while I was in the process of creating color buttons for a color chart to use as a teaching aid, as well as for my own use in the studio. I just couldn't resist using some of the patterns that emerged when the blending the colors.

If you feel inspired to try polymer clay check into workshops being offered in Hilton Head Island, St. Simons Island, and Jesup, Georgia.

Those who have experienced one of my Saturday workshops have walked away with the knowledge of how to create the exact color that they envision, how to condition the clay, create and design with canes, design various bead shapes, and how to work with, and cure the clay. The day is packed with fun, information, and exploration. You will create a handful of beads that are truly unique to you and leave with some ideas of how to execute your gems in a finished piece of jewelry.

Ellen Conrad making Polymer Beads during March Art Class
Ellen Conrad during March Polymer Bead Class

Hi Jami.

I took your clay jewelry class in March this year. It was very enjoyable. I do mosaic artwork and decided to try making a sea turtle out of the clay, using some of the techniques you taught. I'm sending you a picture of my turtle art piece. I definitely need more practice making each piece the same thickness, but overall I am happy with the turtle. Your cookie design class would be fun. The beach bikini cookies are adorable, but I'm in Michigan. Hope to get back to Hilton Head next March.
